Jesus never promised an easy life.
He promised we would have trouble. He told us to count the cost of following Him. Difficulty is part of discipleship.
But life doesn't have to be this hard.
Not every hardship is the same.
Sometimes we're enduring exactly what God has asked us to endure.
Other times we're living with the consequences of ignoring His wisdom, pushing through spiritual stop signs, or mistaking striving for faithfulness.
Biblical discernment helps us tell the difference.
It asks uncomfortable questions:
Is this a trial God is using to mature me? Or am I resisting what He has already made clear?
Am I enduring faithfully? Or am I refusing to repent?
Am I facing opposition because I follow Christ? Or because I insist on my own way?
Discernment doesn't eliminate hardship.
It protects us from much of the unnecessary hardship we create when we ignore God's warnings, outrun His timing, or refuse His correction.
Life was never promised to be easy.
But through obedience, repentance, and biblical wisdom, it doesn't have to be this hard.
